We are going out of business and selling ALL of the plants growing on our farm this spring. We’ve marked everything 25-50% off because everything has to be sold. A big thank you goes out to everyone who supported us over the years.

We are currently selling bare root plants for pre-order. There is a $50 minimum for pre-orders, and we’ll be delivering them to a pickup location in Skagit county on Saturday April 26th, at Tangled Thicket Farm, located at 19460 E. Permaculture Nursery in Twisp, WA

For the last 5 years, we’ve been a plant nursery run by Raven’s Roots Naturalist School, now located in Twisp, WA. Raven’s Roots teaches permaculture, herbalism, wild foraging, medicinal plants, medicine making, mushroom ID and foraging, wilderness survival, wildlife tracking and behavior, fermentation, basketry and many other self reliance and naturalist skills. Raven’s Roots also runs an apothecary called Wayside Botanicals. The apothecary grows and harvests all of it’s own medicinal plants and sells teas, extracts, salves, hyrdosols and more on it’s website (link is above).

Sadly, we’ve had to move our farm twice now over the last 3 years and have decided to close the nursery down for good. In the spring of 2025, be selling ALL of our plants that we’ve been growing for the last 15 years and want them all to go to good homes.

TYPES OF PLANTS THAT WE SELL:

We grow and sell perennial vegetables, medicinal, wildlife attracting and native plants from our farm in Whatcom county. We have grown all of the plants ourselves and have formed a deep connection with all of them. They have all been grown organically within a permaculture system and the majority of them are perennials, which overwinter well in NW Washington. Wel have over 120 species of plants available for sale and possibly even more. If you’d like to visit the nursery at another time during the week, please contact us at gabe@7layersnursery.com to make an appointment. We also are busy running a school (Raven’s Roots) and an apothecary (Wayside Botanicals) on our farm as well, so we will need at least 3 days notice for appointments.

If you would are new to permaculture or would like our advice on how to setup your permaculture garden at home, we can come out to your property and consult you on how to best get started and how and where to site the plants that we sell in our nursery. We are only offering gardening consultations to Skagit and Whatcom counties. All consultations outside of these counties will require an additional fee for gas and travel time.
